Checking Things Out At Grandma & Grandpa's

Buffy's high school reunion was last week so Buffy, Scott and Karlie came to Susanville for a quick visit. Karlie had to check everything out at Grandma & Grandpa's. She got to pick plums with Grandpa!
She wanted to check out the motorcycles and got to sit on Grandma's .......then got to sit on Grandpa's!And Karlie practiced jumping - a lot!!Then she had to pet Copper and make sure he was okay ( he was choking!)Karlie was curious to see if her head could reach - and it did!But it's more fun swinging!!

Let's Go On A Picnic!

Even though Karlie is only 2 1/2 and not ready to start Kindergarten yet, Grandma Barbie bought Karlie a lunch box and backpack anyway! She loved the lunchbox and wanted Grandpa Danny to go on a picnic with her.Did you know that lunch boxes carry harmonicas too?!!I heard that Karlie took the lunchbox everywhere she went this week
and carried her lunch and ate from it!

When it was time to go, she carried the lunchbox in her new backback!

Before we know it, she will actually be going to school!

Play Time!

Karlie, Buffy and Scott came over for dinner and Karlie spent some more time playing with Grandpa. She loved this doing this puzzle with Grandpa! Then after dinner, we sat outside while Karlie jumped some more. Scott wrote letters of Karlie's name on each square with sidewalk chalk. She sure is curious about everything!

A Summer Treat!

After playing, it was time for a summer treat. Buffy said is okay to give her this! Even though we knew what would happen!Get that drip! After Karlie was finished with the creamsicle, we started taking pics of the messy face. She really started hamming it up!Karlie's sticky face! Karlie's sad face!Karlie's silly face!
Grandma Barbie's favorite face - love her big smile!Spending time with Buffy, Scott and Karlie was a treat for Grandma and Grandpa too!

A Good Time at the Lassen County Fair!

Summer just isn't summer without going to the Lassen County Fair. Six days and nights of events such as the Miss Lassen County Pagent, the Country Talent Show, the Demolition Derby, Car Races and usually a concert with a new up and coming country artist. Plus the carnival rides and animals and the food vendors! What a good time! This year, I really wanted to see Lady Antebellum. I had been listening to them a lot on the radio and already liked thier music. Here's a video to play of one of Lady Antebellum's songs - it also was the finale.

Then we went another evening to watch Mark race. He is doing pretty well this year and maintaining 6th place.

The races that are held during Fair week is one of the most biggest during the whole season. Other race car drivers from Northern CA and NV come too. There were 22 modifed car entries in the main event for this race. Here's a video to watch - look close for Mark!

Pretty dusty, eh?

Visiting Kevin, Jamie & Bella!

We arrived in Texas after a 15 hour drive. We stayed on the base at the Dyess Inn. After we rested the first night, Kevin and Jamie came over to give us the tour of the base.Bella slept through most of the tour!Kevin's dormHis dorm room is a single room living room/bedroom. He has a computer area, a chair, a futon, a bed, a dresser, a refrigerator (with only Mountain Dew in it!) and a microwave. He has a bathroom with connecting doors that he shares with another Airman.Lunch time for Bella!Doesn't Kevin make a good dad?!! He surprised us by how much he takes care of Bella - he has not been around many babies when he was growing up! My baby is growing up!Then we walked around back of the dorm building to a little covered deck area. Almost all the dorms have one with picnic tables and a grill. After more sightseeing, we took Kevin, Jamie and Bella out for dinner to Famous Dave's BBQ. Excellant ribs!Don't they make a cute couple - did we look that young too? Back to the base!
